Philippines Requirements that You Need To Be Able To Work in a Cruise Ship

Cruise ship jobs are emerging as in demand jobs this year as there were previous job openings that were opened for Filipinos this 2014. According to the news article, there were no college diplomas needed to be chosen meaning high school graduates are welcome in this job opening but off course workers with previous experiences from hotels and casinos are still required.

If you get to be hired for a cruise ship job vacancy in the Philippines, these are the minimum requirements:

Age

In accordance to the Philippine law, it is stated that no one below 18 years of age shall be permitted to work on a ship. It is clearly stated and can be easily understood because workers below 18 years old are considered minors. One thing that I can say about this is that, there is no stated age limit for a cruise ship worker which means maximum age limits would be dependent on the employer.

Medical Certificate

Sea farers should have a valid medical health certificate from accredited DOH hospitals. Plain and simple, if you are planning to go aboard, you should be in optimal health condition. There are many applicants that are denied for a slot in a cruise ship job because they do not pass the given health examinations and standards set for the job.

Training and Qualifications

According to the law, only trained workers can be hired for the desired job.

Recruitment and Placement

Do not be deceived by some of the fixers that are trying to ask for money telling you that you need this amount to get aboard. Only POEA and OWWA are qualified to ask for the recruitment and placement fees without an interruption from 3rd party agencies.

Put a desiccant Desiccants are those little packets or mysterious whatever stuff you find in food packaging (mostly imported Japanese processed food) with a warning that it is not edible and that it should not be eaten. Desiccants are activated carbon that absorbs moisture from the air. Moisture aids in the decomposition of materials that’s why desiccants are placed well inside food packs to help protect them from moisture related spoilage. Use a desiccant in boxes that you need to protect from moisture in the air. Leather shoes can go brittle with moisture. Personally, I use desic...
